The case for Courtney Banghart

She fits the mold that Whit has gone after.

Young (She's 37. Fuente is 39(!). Buzz is elder statesman at 43). Dynamic. Smart. Proven program builder. High academic standards.

She took Princeton from the cellar to the penthouse in the Ivy League in 3 years and have stayed there since. They earned the first Ivy at-large NCAA bid ever.

Other pros: two XX chromosomes. I know that shouldn't matter, but it does.

Mitigating factors: relatively deep NE roots. From NH, went to Dartmouth, lives/coaches in NJ. But she has coached high school in Alexandria. What is the family situation? Spouse? Kids? None of the biographical information I could find mentioned a spouse. If so, then that might be an easier lure. Blacksburg might not have something for a spouse in their career field. Monies, no way to know how much she makes now to know how much we'd have to pay. ACC is better league than Ivy, basketball wise. Academically inferior (ostensibly) but probably the best academics of the P5.
